It's that time of year!

Yep. Time for me to link to my now four-year-old Advent Music post! It was Year A when I originally wrote it, and it’s Year A again, so all the more reason to revisit it.

The hymnody of Advent is so rich, both theologically and musically, and Evangelical worship planners, for the most part, deny their people of it in favor of a bunch of pre-Christmas Christmas-singing. We need to do something about that.

I think I have all of those, but not in one hymnal/anthology!

For those of the Baptist ilk, the new Celebrating Grace hymnal has a better selection of Advent hymns, as well as an article in the back on the liturgical year, Advent wreaths, etc. Oooooooh!

I have GOT to get a copy of that hymnal! Maybe there will be one in my stocking.
