Poised for victory?

Captain’s Wafers seem to be enjoying a strong lead.

IMO, they are the better cracker because they are not as crumbly as Club Crackers. It’s impossible to spread anything on a Club Cracker without the cracker breaking into five or six pieces.

BTW Vrouw Jonker’s homemade pimiento cheese is WONDERFUL on Captain’s Wafers.

  1. We use to go to these restaurants in Decatur and have Captain Wafers with butter for appetizers.

Oh yeah! We used to go to Sambo’s when I was a kid, and there would always be a basket on the table with saltines, Captain’s Wafers, and usually RyKrisp Wafers too, and those little pats of butter on squares of waxed paper.

Then they’d bring out the iceberg lettuce with the shredded red cabbage, covered with Thousand Island dressing. And it was always in those little wooden (or faux wood maybe) salad bowls.

You know, I can’t remember ANYTHING I ever ordered for an entree, but I remember those crackers and those “salads” (if you can call them that).

i like Captain’s Wafers in restaurants — many childhood memories of refusing to eat anything but captain’s wafers and butter at the local seafood place because i was being too much of a picky brat to eat crawfish.

i like Club Crackers out of the box, unadorned.

for spreading, i prefer Wheat Thins or those yummy english water crackers.
